Events Monitor

The Events Monitor table below can be used to gather information on events that have taken place for a particular mission throughout its lifetime. Each event is associated with a sensor and category, with a provided start and end date of when the event occurred and completed. You can search events using the following dropdown menu below to search by a particular sensor and between a specified time frame.

PACE_OCI Anomaly No Impact Oct 24 2025 Oct 24 2025 At 16:33:45 the solar calibrator assembly (SCA) position encoder changed discontinuously by ~92 degrees. OCI was collecting Earth view data at the time and the spacecraft had just entered the SAA, so a radiation hit on the SCA mechanism control electronics (MCE) was suspected. Other telemetry indicated that the calibrator position was normal and the door was closed. The anomaly caused the OCI solar calibration RTSs to be disabled onboard. The SCA was reset at 22:00, which corrected the encoder values, and the RTSs were enabled. No OCI solar cals were missed.
PACE AWS Cloud Data Delayed Oct 20 2025 Oct 20 2025 The AWS cloud was offline for two separate intervals of a few hours each. During these periods no science files or file reports were delivered by DAPHNE. This had multiple impacts: 1) Without the LRFs the MOC was unable to delete files in the DSB, causing it to start filling. 2) The lack of LRFs also caused the MOC to downlink the same files multiple times. The AWS problem was reported as a DNS outage. In both cases all science data were recovered when service was restored, and the DSB did not reach the threshold for disabling polarimeter data ingest. The file reports were also delivered, but there were substantial discrepancies between the LRFs and LDFs.
PACE_OCI Anomaly No Impact Oct 1 2025 Oct 1 2025 The file OCI000238478.oci was corrupted. It was marked as "true" in both the LRF and LDF. A retransmission was requested from the ground station but this did not correct the problem. Details of the corruption were provided to the FSW team to support their investigation. No specific cause was identified. The corrupted data were manually identified and removed from the file that was then successfully processed with a few seconds of data lost.
